Post by slashing »

I took my holland import kr1s out for a run over the weekend it has broken a ring i am running wiseco single ring pro light pistons in it. I throught they would take more of a hamering than they have as they were only replaced 1000km or so ago i have noticed when i got it home after waiting four hours for the AA to recover me that the oil pipe has small air bubles in them any help apreciated.

I think you have found the cause of your problem, now you need to find where the air is getting in.
Check the non return valves at the manifolds then at the oil line connections to and from the oil pump.

When mine have been stood over the winter i always do the following

On first start-up, remove the pump cover and while the bike is just ticking over, hold the pump in the fully open
position. You will see any air bubbles pumping through the pipes. Once they stop you know its okay to use.
