balance shaft

Post by Mouser »

Hi people,

Anyone knows where I can get the oil seal for the balance shaft, mine is no longer good. Guess lots of people have had this problem, cannot last 20 years this thing :).

Thanks

92033 is a snap-ring (a circlips). I don't see any seals in that picture, nor is there a seal in the list

The markings on the genuine seal are Ars (manufacturer) A6 SD5 23 47 7.7R NS
It has a ridge around the out side to help alignment

You could replace it with a standard industrial oil seal 23 x47 x7 with a wiper lip (which is prefix TC or R23) preferably fluorocarbon tipped for long life.

You need to press off one end of the balance weight to be able to change it. I think mine has started to leak as well. don't forget to mark the alignment of the weight before removing it as there is no location on the shaft just a press fit

Yes I've pressed mine apart to replace the bearings before. quite simple if you have a small press or you might be able to do it with a good bearing puller. mark the alignment of the balance weights before starting
