Yes - but it's on my R and I'm not taking it off and sending it half way around the world..
I would be willing to measure differences to STD inlet and send you the info.

It may be worth talking to KR-1R on here too as he made some but think the rubber consistency may have been difficult to copy ? Other threads on this from a few years ago.

Brock from B.D.K race ENGINEERING is willing to make these manifolds.
So it will not have to travel far. But I understand if your not willing to send it.
Thanks for your help but and I'll contact KR-1R.

35mm inlet manifolds

Post by KR-1R »

the ones I have done I sold for £40 pair (reed side) and £20 pair for the snorkels (airbox) - which is about the same/cheaper than what Kawasaki produced them for.

the airbox snorkels I think are important as it is crucial to support the larger carbs (empty: 28mm carb weights 340g, 35mm carb weight 515g = 150+% heavier (and longer))
because of the added weight I would not suggest anyone run an open airbox arrangement (race)where the carbs are only supported at the engine side.

you may be aware of 3D printing technology?
If I was to start from scratch I would not take a mold from the oringal KR-1R/SP reed rubbers.
The mold could be made better/slightly larger around the perimeter of the metal flange for added rubber bond - if you look at the original 28 versions you see the rubber is very thin there in places

so... you need to 3d model up a new version (with modifications) and 3d print the new part (shapeways.com)
I am suggesting 3d printing a replica male part as the surface finish can be polished as needed - to 3d print the (female) mold directly would mean you would have to use the as-printed finish.

The snorkels are more complicated to cast but have less design complications if you get my drift.

In my opinion the original snorkels can benefit from a redesign for performance - where a proper return radius and bellmouth design would improve flow. (some reading...here)

like other products on the market (eg Banshee aftermarket) the rubber is a form of urethane that has additives to provide chemical resistance and tailored flexibility (Shore hardness). Urethane can take many forms from the stuff you squirt into gaps for house insulation, flexible coloured products (suspension bushes, dildos :^o ) to very hard rigid plastics (office chair components etc)

I can supply the vector file needed to cut the aluminium flange. I would work on a model (in reality would take less than an hour) but for time and other pursuits.

there are added burdens when you take on tasks for others...
- parts not fulfilling quality/specification/consistency
- factors and costs of delivery (worldwide supply, tracked delivery (or bare the cost of lost or stolen product), customs and taxes
- exchange rate fluctuation
- end use (gerbels are pets right? why do some people shove them in their arse?)

you can now 3d print plastics, metals and rubber-like polymers - I would not use the later in this instance

The FZR1000 air box rubbers are very similar to the R versions and a good robust alternative as they are the right size and support the carb well

Well hook me up with three sets (pairs )minimum

what about airbox ducts?
Or are fzr 1000 units still the go?

Does anyone know if the reed blocks /cages require modification to enhance flow or are they the same part number as B/C model
