Yamaha TZR 250 3xv straight cut balance shaft gears

Post by maccas » Fri Feb 21, 2014 5:39 pm

Hi guys,

Hope you don't mind me posting these here.

I had a few sets of straight cut balance shaft gears specially commissioned for the 3xv to replace the standard helical cut gears. I have 3 surplus sets to sell to re-coup the outlay that I forked out to get these made. My reasoning for having them made is that all of the v-twin TZ 250's have straight cut balance shaft gears. Straight cut gears are slightly more efficient than helical cut gears so less power will be lost in spinning up the balance shaft. The gains will be small, yes, but it all adds up.

Each set of gears is £182 +post That is what they cost me, I aren't making a penny on them, merely trying to re-coup my outlay.

I currently have them on ebay, the higher price is to cover ebay fees and paypal fees, if anyone wants some just let me know and I will gladly sell out of ebay:

Cheers,

Dan

Have you asked Ian King and Tricia if they're interested?

There is a thread about them on the tzr forum. It seems the price puts most people off. Especially as i have no dyno results to prove their worth.

I haven't asked them directly no, Ben.
