H0NDA NSR250 SP Rothmans

Post by mellorp » Tue Aug 30, 2016 11:31 am

This is going up for sale in a few weeks time
It needs an MOT (being done 1st week of Sept) whilst I wait for the new dating certificate from h***a, then it will be registered on an age related plate as 1 owner (me). You could be the 1st owner if you do the registration

Genuine H0nda fairing and tail piece

Usual SP extra's are fully adjustable suspension, dry clutch and magtek wheels.

If you are interested send me a PM

Got one of them , blown crank seal as all NSRs do when laid up

That's not magteks on it BTW What cylinders are on it ? A lot of SE look a likes out there especially in UK thanks to a dodgy dealer using a container from Japan.

Still restoring mine but when the clear coat bubbled on tank - the 3rd one to do it , it got chucked in the corner in disgust - it can wait !!!

Got a HRC race bike up and running again with a RK motor :D Will also sort my two MC18's too then maybe just maybe look at the 21 again

It's a genuine SP. The magteks (I have 3 sets) are in the loft. I put these Enkie wheels on for the MOT as the calipers/pads were off my R and I wanted to pair the disks and calipers. The new calipers/pads/disks are now on the bike. It's got the SE/SP cylinders and SP heads. The only difference between SE and SP is the magteks, where as there are multiple differences to the R. To get the most out of a std engine you have combine the correct R bits with the correct SP bits :-)

Are there more Rothmans SP's in the world than were actually produced? Probably, but what a great colour scheme.

This crank is fine. Brand new ones are just over £500 at the moment and not all of them fail. Having said that I had mains and big ends go on 2 different cranks but as I had 5 (now 4) it's not an issue. Paint on my 3 different tanks are all fine. You must have got unlucky with yours. Frame finish can be a bit iffy once it starts to fail.

Probs with the MC18 is getting the bits for a crank rebuild and the fact the MK1 and MK2 are both different, and different again from the MC21/28 as is the flywheel on all of them. ARGH.

All of them are tiny

I'm sure you are more than aware of all that though aren't you Drew :-)

Hi John. I have a really rough MC21 nose cone, nothing mint. Try the NSR free forum http://nsr250.freeforums.org/index.php or fb group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1015831035123093/
