Paint Codes

Post by Brian Waters »

Evening All

Is anyone able to help me please with paint codes for a black and green (ebony-Lime green KR1s C2) Plz ..

I am geting near the stage of painting my body work.

Looking at a link here it looks like I need a base layer. Top coat and laquer ?

Hoping to do it with cellulose ..

If I can get it..

To do it with the touch up aerosol link looks a bit too £ ..

Or who would supply a litre or two ...? :)

Any advise would be very welcome.

Sorry if going over old ground, I did try a search but did not find what I need.

Rgds

Bri,
Spent about 25 years in one body shop or another so was around when cellulose was all there was. Why on earth would you want to use it. The advances since then have been incredible to say the least. Cellulose especially on plastic will not be half the job of 2k in either finish or long term stability. It will sink around all of you repairs etc. If you must use it you should still use 2k primer. Base coat and clear will give much tighter tape lines and smoother final finish.

I painted many years ago for a living and have to agree just wear a mask
2k is just easier to use and better its pretty much idiot proof. If your using celly you need to be a pro or lucky to be honest.
I wish i knew something about KR's so i was like knowledgeable about them and everything like what you lot are ;-) :-) :-)
