Post by malsa »

Hello, Any recommendations for calliper paint, (gold). Am thinking of using smoothrite at mo.

I don't think any off the shelf paint will resist brake fluid - not even Smoothrite. So you can really go with what you want (unless you
want the original colour).

Just have to be careful when it comes to bleeding them.

Paint and calipers are not easy bedfellows, I hate working on my bikes brakes just because of the fear of a drop of fluid hitting the caliper.

Anyone found a good match in powdercoat?

Some one must do a decent match.

Just stripping of powder coat, had gone around bleed and banjo bolts from fluid. Just after the best paint to adhere to the ally, have a tin of gold smoothrite have go with that and some primer. Ta chaps

I use Dot 5 silicone fluid as it doesn't damage paint.
