regulater
Hi chaps just recommisioning a racing kr1s the charging system has been removed from the bike so it runs on a charge and recharde battery so what is the regulator doing ?can the regulator be tested with the engine running?as ou can tell electrics are a mystry to me. thanks bob

don't know if you know : on top left of the forum, you can download the manual. part 15b describes testing the regulator/rectifier.
you can test it with the engine running, but if not sure of it's condition it is dangerous. it only takes a couple of seconds to fry your CDI if the output is too high.
basicly : voltage on the battery shouldn't rise above 14.5V when revving the engine. on idle it may be a lot lower.
