Cheers for that Fred,i've done that, the kips motor cycles itself when the lights or indicators are switched on as well.....

Is it dropping the battery voltage enough, so it thinks the ignition's been switched off? Quite a bit of load taken by the lights etc?

Thanks for that, the batterys charged, the reason why i'm asking about the cdi is going by the wiring diagram all wires from the kips motor go to\from the cdi.....

have you got another KIPS motor to try ? sometimes something gets stuck in the whole mecanism.

if not, take the whole assembly appart and make sure everythings moves smoothly.

Hi all fixed it!....it was a drop in voltage that caused the kips motor to keep cycling, some of the windings in the stator was duff so had it rewound,it must have been the windings that work the ignition circuit?....thanks for all the help....Jeff
