More idiot light things!!!!

Post by LotusSevenMan »

OK. Am rebuilding a KR1.

Oil light and neutral light are on with ignition on. Neutral light goes out when not in neutral (ie 1st 2nd etc etc) so that's fine. Now to what is really puzzling me. The oil light. It is on. Even with a full oil tank it's on. How does it work other than a float that raises on the spindle and 'breaks' the contact? How do you test the system as the manual is a bit vague in this dept!!!!

What is it supposed to do? Only come on when oil level approaching top up time I assumed?
Cheers, Chris

the oil-light IS always on when you put the bike in neutral

now why do I hear you thinking :?:

'cause you don't want to run out off oil off course. but how do you know the light will work when oil-level is dropping, 'cause the light might be broken ...

simply : every time you put the bike in neutral, you can test your oil-light 8)

Now that sounds like a good system, except mine is on all the time in gear or neutral.
Ill try removing it and testing it somehow.

Cheers Daniel. Might need that offer if it is actually U/S.
