Stripping a front brake? How far can you go???

Like the title suggests...

Is it possible to remove the piston from the master cylinder??? Only cos I dont fancy spending £125 + VAT for a replacement and want to respray the lever and assembly :D

you'll probably find a bit of scoring in the bore...rub it out with a bit of fine wet n dry......might b worth seein if u can get a repair kit for it(the two seals n the spring)....might b fitted to others if u cant get kr1 parts....think my mates zx6r.j1....is the same cos he tried out my spare when he had brake probs.... :D
