Other ZXR 250A front end swap brake callipers?

Post by Steely »

Hi all,

In the process of fitting a ZXR 250A front end to my KR-1S, i would like to go for better brakes, other than using the ZXR ones, or KR1 calipers.

I am fitting a full front end from a ZXR:

Yokes
Forks
Front Wheel
And all the other bits that go with it.

Does anybody have any ideas what other calipers will fit?

Many thanks, Tony

You -won't find many calipers better than the originals, Big K stuck them on the ZX9R and if they are capable of pulling one of those beasts to a halt they are more than capable of pulling a KR1 to a stop.

I would just refurbish them and look at some decent fluid (halfords 5:1 is very good and cheap) and maybe refurbish or replace the master cylinder.

I'm not 100%, but I've never come across 4 pots that have the same bolt spacing as KR1/zxr250 calipers.

If you really wanted I'm sure you could get some bespoke brakets made up to fit whatever you wanted. Personally I think I'd spend the money on the KR1/ZXR calipers, I'vejust refurbed another set for my next project , new seals, pads, hel stainless bleed nipples and powdercoated bodies, I had the same on my KR, now on Alimorgs bike and always found them perfectly capable.

So it's that or phone NK racing and get waiting
