Rubber boots for front brake master cylinders

Post by James P » Sat Aug 30, 2014 2:10 am

This is the rubber boot that protects the piston on most front brake master cylinders:

Since most manufacturers used Nissin master cylinders at some point, it came as no surprise that the boots are the same for most of these. If you have any trouble obtaining the "correct" Kawasaki ones or aren't satisfied with aftermarket versions, you can order any of these and receive effectively the same part:

Kawasaki 49016-1044
Suzuki 59666-44300
Yamaha 5G2-25868-00

Pricing varies quite a bit. One supplier advertised the Yamaha part for about half the price of the Kawasaki part.

The boot for the rear master cylinder is different and unfortunately I haven't yet managed to obtained similar cross-over part number info. If anyone can help, please let us know!

Thanks & regards,
James
