150 tyre on kr1s

Post by headcoats »

Anyone fitted a 150 tyre and how much gap is left tyre to chain in mm ?
Also I know it's a 150 but could someone put the verniers across the broadest part please ?
I have machined 5mm off my sprocket carrier too for the LC build and fearing I won't have room šŸ˜±

Cheers Luders but I have machined 5mm off the carrier , so the chain will be 5mm closer to the tyre

is a function of tyre brand which for a nominated size could be wider by +/- 10mm
and rim width - same for cars
being the running gear is in a different chassis/engine output centreline
if it doesnt fit then offset front sprocket and respace the rear to suit - that youve already done...

Yes but with the puny LC chassis it's like threading a needle , hence the carrier being machined 5mm in so it misses the frame plate

I know a 140 fits but had a feeling with the 150 it may not

I have a 150 tyre here , not fitted to the rim and it measures 160mm across

That's why I need someone with a BT tyre fitted to give me the measurement please

On a rim it would never be 160

I have a BT090 150 section and edge of tyre to inside of chain is approx 12mm (can't measure exactly)

Hope that helps

Cheers Gary

Well with my 5mm machined off the sprocket carrier then that measurement will give me 7mm clearance :P

How about cutting a piece of carboard 12mm wide and see how it sits between the chain and tyre

Thanks in advance

That measurement should be good enough for what you need - it could have a 2-3 mm tolerance either way anyway depending on how accurately the wheel is lined up.

My track bike has a 160 on it and it's tight but there is plenty of clearance.
