Does anybody know the length of the front forks, from axle centreline to top of stanchion tube?

I have fitted KR1 fork uppers into KR1S lowers in the past

Presumed they were same length

You can mix and match the stanchions and lowers and internals no problem.

The spring lengths are slightly different as i recall - but not enough to worry about

I think S lowers are slightly shorter - i always think the KR1 looks a bit higher at the front than the S (could just be me)

Will measure KR1 forks tomorrow unless someone else does it first

Thanks for the replies, 722 mm makes them the same length as my vj22 RGV fork legs.

Hi Gerrit,

Are your RGV forks from the SP model?

Cheers,
Bernie

No, standard vj22 without adjustable compression and rebound damping, Bernie, though the internals are White Power goodies according to the previous owner. Adding adjustable compression damping is probably not possible (at the very least it would require significant and costly machining, I suspect), but it may be possible to add adjustable rebound damping by fitting GSX-R fork caps and revalving the internals.

I'm trying to avoid using any valved horror parts for my project if at all possible, Bernie, though the GSX-R fork caps with the adjustable rebound fittings would be a necessary compromise. Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha valved horror parts are acceptable, but definitely NO H#$@a parts whatsoever!
