Fitting RGV250 USD forks?

Post by Gerrit »

I may be able to get my hands on an RGV250 USD fork assembly (with White Power internals). Has anybody fitted these forks to a KR and is it a worthwhile mod? Are there any pitfalls in installing?

Yes the SP model forks with rebound damping is a worthwhile mod. Andy Bailey used VJ22 forks in his race bike. No pitfalls I'm aware of.

Thanks for the reply, Luders. Sounds like it's a good purchase then.

I would go for more modern forks. RGV forks are not much better than KR's or ZXR400's.
I myself have ZX6-R 2004 forks in my KR and my ZXR4/600. and that is a massive improvement. not only suspension-wise, but also the braking with radial calipers. yes, you can stop as hard with original brakes, but the feeling is soooo much better that you can brake later.
My ultimate goal is to die young as late as possible !

Jan, the forks in question have White Power internals. I would assume that the conversion has improved the quality of the forks' action considerably.
