Wrong bottom yoke?

Post by smoovly »

The further I get the more issues I find and the more I learn...

When I bought my C2 it had KR1 bars and yokes fitted. I bought what I thought was an S bottom yoke but I've just gone to offer up the horn bracket and realised there's no holes for it.

The yoke seems to fit ok and looks right, it has 2 bolts either side for the bottom clamp and the brake splitter fits fine.

Am I going mad or have I got something from a different model?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

The horn doesn't fit on the yoke, it bolts to the top radiator bracket (sort of triangular one)
and as far as I'm aware both yokes are identical between the models.

Thanks, I thought it might go on there instead but the bolt holes don't seem to line up with any on the upper rad bracket.

I wonder if the S has a different horn bracket?

The horn and bracket is the same on both models.

If you turn the frame up side down just behind the lower stem bearing you wil see 2 boltholes, those holes are for the bracket. The bracket is tightened with 2 black imbus.
The bracket itself has got 4 holes the top 2 holes are for the horn the lower 2 holes are for the radiator.

Hope this helps

Hmm, I think I see the problem.

My top bracket only has 4 holes, 2 to fix it to the frame and two for the rad. Strange...

This is a picture of one off Ebay, mine is missing the bar in the middle with the threads in.

Thanks

As far as I can tell, the horn brackets are different between B and C models, as are the top radiator mountings. The bracket on the horn for B models has a 90 degree bend, whereas the bracket on the horn for C models has an offset, with the mountings in the same plane. The horn on each of my B models is mounted on the rear of the bottom yoke. As Jarno and Jan have already mentioned, the bottom yokes are different.

The part numbers are:

Horn with bracket, B model - 27003-1285
Horn with bracket, C model - 27003-1317

Top radiator bracket, B model - 11046-1387
Top radiator bracket, C model - 11046-1730

Bottom yoke, B model (2 fork clamping bolts) - 44037-1243
Bottom yoke, C model (4 fork clamping bolts) - 44037-1260

James

Agreed. I appear to have both a B horn and upper rad bracket by the looks of it so need to find both. The bike came with a B bottom yoke so someone has obviously swapped both parts at that time.

Thanks James.
