Fork caps

Post by smoovly »

Me again! :P

I am struggling to remove the fork caps from my S forks, they are so tight that the ring spanner has just rounded the nut off. Am I missing a trick or are they just seized?

I have seen some KR1 ones on eBay, are they the same as the S ones?

Many thanks

I try and use a 6 sided socket on fork caps if possible, also try and crack the seal while they are still in the yokes, as this helps before removing the individual legs.
Fork legs differ as the caliper mounts are different for both models, believe the tops are the same tough.

Make sure the top yoke clamp is loose when you try to loosen the cap as it can pinch the thread tight.
