Weave might different for the SSC=-014 though for a KDX they would be biased toward low end

Re: Reed petals

what does everyone use these days? Need to use oem reedblock for production racing so Vforce are out. are they still available from kawasaki? Thanks in advance Throw VF2's in from a KDX 200 or better still Boyensen RAD valves. If you want to use the standard cage (really good OEM cage/stuffer BTW) ...

Re: 21st century tuners - who's left?

I tried running the big rad without the thermostat and it over cooled the engine and couldn't get it above 48Deg C. After putting a standard thermostat in, it runs consistently at about 60 Deg C. If anyone has some port map ideas, can they send them to me as I'll probably get another set of cylinde...

Re: 21st century tuners - who's left?

two stroke tuning was always a bit of a black art and todays strokers are getting abit long in the tooth, along with the tuners who've either retired or passed away. So, who's left and is also still willing to tune strokers in the 21st century? Honestly with decent ignitions they actually do the wo...

Re: Alternate ign curves

I was looking to use the quick shift function on my Zeeltronic, but the wiring diagram doesn't indicate which wire is used to kill the revs. The zeel wiring diagram is a bit naff. I have 6 wires coming out; Purple-White Green-Black Green-Yellow Green Black-White Brown-Green does anyone know which o...

Re: Alternate ign curves

Before you go any further have you strobed the flywheel to make sure programmed advance =flywheel rotation? Is that like checking the static advance? No static advance is a figure for the leading edge of the lobe on the flywheel as it passing under the middle of the pick up to TDC expessed in degre...

Re: Aftermarket ignition?

Its a shame the other ignition manufacturer I spoke to were much less than helpful, but I'm happy now with a great product and excellent service from Ignitec. Consider yourself very lucky you got a reply. Still waiting for a quote on 10 quickshifts I wanted to buy from them. After sales ser...

Re: Alternate ign curves

I've got a Zelltronic for my KR1 and was thinking of experimenting with the curves. I'm aware that each engine ideally needs to be optimised for the type of tune and pipes fitted, but has anyone got any curves that give a general overall gain over the standard KR1 curve that they would like to shar...

Re: KR250A race bike

More pics of the KR250 race bike project, but first in answer to this post "I had a look and a listen to the bike at the Barry, I don't think the ignition or the carburation is right. Are you running an EGT probe? The pipes could also be an issue. It never sounded sharp. Was great to see it out ther...

Re: DIY Dyno

With dynos big ticket item is the drum, expensive bit of steel and a big bill for the machining and balancing. There might be a way to use a large electric motor for the drum it's supposed to be technically possible, not sure if it will work out in reality. Some ballpark figures I got to machine a d...

Re: Engine Mods.....what works and what doesn't

An example recently got just shy of 61hp on our dyno (reads about the same as most dynapro's) from an Aprilia RS with tyga pipes and an ignition. That was in about half an hour on the dyno. So there is heaps of value in pipes and an ignition.I could only put 1 aftermarket part or make 1 modification...
