Been away for a while and thought I'd pop in and pay you all a visit. Lots of new names on here that I don't recognise and the forum looks like its pretty active again which is good to see. Finally treated myself to a new bike, its a kwak but not kr. Decided to treat myself to a zx9r which is stupid...

Wouldnt have thought it was a crank seal, you'd see shit loads of smoke if it was.
My guess would be just a gasket

You might want to try and sel the carbs on the rd/lc forum especially as they have all the cables.
I sold mine a to a guy on there a few years ago and well over £100 just for the carbs.

60 is always an optomistic figure for a stock bike but only 40 at the wheel
I think the recognised loss from crank to wheel is around 10% so that would
put your in the region of 45 at the crank.
It must be restricted, if not it needs sorting out.

I can only think your mates ride like pussys or it was a VERY tight road.
As much as i loved my kr i think it would be very difficult to outrun a
well ridden modern 600/750 sports bike unless either or both of the above applied.

Has nobody ever heard the old saying
You keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
As long as he's in the uk he is no longer a problem.
Returning him to pakistan will only make a martyr of him
which will give the masses even more fuel for their fire.

Attention to detail.
No crappy brackets
Matching boltheads (not all matching rusty either)
No gaps in altered bodywork
Clean clean clean (even in all the nooks and crannies)

I cant wait to find this mystical "safe place" everyone talks about.
I recon there'll be enough parts in there to build at least two whole bikes
