Re: Mitaka pistons - OK now or not?

Hi Dave, There fine provided you do a couple of things first, Check the rear boost port and rear transfer have not been widened from stock as the ring ends can catch the corners of the ports and eventually wear the coating on the barrel off. Add a nice 1mm chamfer with a fine file to the front and r...

Re: Dunlop tyres

That's a shame if you only have a KR1 and not an S,the GP70's used to be a great tyre and you could get them in 140 so only 1 size oversize for B2 models.
Where are the Dunlops for sale?

Re: tuned engine specs question

I had Bobs SS400 tune on a KR1 B2,from my own memory it was crap, too peaky and struggled in the higher gears. Looking at what he had done didn't seem like he knew what he was doing, exhaust port raised and widened to same as KR1S and barrel tops skimmed, head left as is,transfer's not touched except s...

Re: New Mitaka (new type) pistons are not in order

Had similar problems since they went Taiwan made, rough as cast, abnormal wear after only 150 miles.
Never had a problem with the old type (that were mad by Prox tbh),think i will have to start using something else, maybe a vertex dtr125.

Re: needle clip on weakest

What needle's do you have? There's the early type,N986A Later type that superseeded them is N99, used to clear up a slight flat spot, there a slightly leaner needle. If your using B10 plug's then they will oil up a fair bit at low speed's,i alway's use 9's on the road even on a highly tuned motor. Yo...

Re: KR150 new model for india this year

Im guessing that's a KX80 reedblock,so the intake on the crankcases must be a fair bit smaller than the KR1 which use's the same reedblock as a 91KX125. Thank's for posting the pics,if you can it would be nice to see a pic of the crankcase intake/reedblock,no worries if you cant. :D Have any of the ...

Re: Oulton park

Its that part where you go into the trees up that hill and then that blind left with a crest on the exit thats scary at speed :D
Shame they added hislops chicane, that down hill with a fast right would have been awesome (like it was back in the early 90's).

Hi Ben,good result, did you get to chat to that young lad Corey lewis racing a kR1 in the streetstock 400's? Seen him at a couple of NG meets and he's pretty quick but the bike isnt anything special, last time out at mallory he was running against the GP125's,the 400s were miles back and he was dicing...
